Eligibility for DGCA Ground Classes in India
To join DGCA Ground Classes in India and work toward a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) from DGCA India, you must meet these requirements:
Class 12 with Physics & Maths
From any CBSE, ICSE, or state board recognized in India. Students without these subjects can qualify via NIOS — a DGCA-accepted alternative.
Age: 18 for a CPL
A Commercial Pilot Licence requires 18 years on the date of application (Aircraft Rules, 1937, Schedule II, Section J). A Student Pilot Licence, which allows flight training to begin, requires 16 (Section B).
